Grymn Grav Bike...

Right, that's it, no more "Mr Nice Guy".

I warned him, but would he listen.... ?

It's been months now and I've been polite, persuasive, patient (and a number of other good things beginning with P (but not pizza as thats a baked dough product with a primarily tomato and cheese based topping)) but that hasn't made Kev White from Hasslefree Miniatures finish the awesome Grymn Grav Bike thats been on his WIP page since Adam was potty training.

So, its gloves off time... I'm entering the world of politics, mass demonstrations, civil disobedience and organised riots the like of which has never been seen outside of a G8 summit protest or a JK Rowling book signing.

Oh, and i've launched a petition... (that'll teach him... if he doesn't give in soon there'll be a poster campaign and possibly badges!!)

So feast thine eyes on the mighty Grymn Grav Bike (and click on it), and when you've finished drooling and have stopped feeling guilty for those tiny twinges of lust brought about by naked green stuff... leave a comment demanding this model is finished !!

Plastikote is a swear word.

So, today after many months of abject laziness and slothfulness I prepped and based 31 Grymn.

Fondly washed and dried them then glued them to their likkle slotta bases, used greenstuff to fill the slot and give some relief to the flatness of the base, I glued ikkle magnets under the bases so that they would stick to the metal lined draws i shall use them to transport them...

... then I went to the garage with a trusty can of black spray paint... (plastikote flat black fast dry spray enamel to be precise). PLastikote is a common brand here in the Uk, and widely available, I've heard horror stories but not had a problem despite using it for a number of years.

Never had this happen before, but i've heard of others complaining, but the paint was grainy - very grainy... and it has hardly stuck to the metal (or the couple of pieces of resin scenery) it kind of smudges off even though dry! Tried a sample from 2 other cans and the same effect!!

More to the point how do I rescue my Grymn without having to strip them and do the whole base thing again? Yeah, deep down I know they can't be rescued, but the little plopping noise they make as you drop them into paint stripper is soul destroying.

Anyone practiced in the art of stripping paint from resin?

Painting Pledge Jun 08

Bought : 0
Amazing - I didn't buy any figures this month... a couple of dozen resin bases, some modelling tools and materials but no actual figures!
Painted : 0
Not so good, painted a number of the bases but I'm not conting them.
This was a bit of a disappointment as I'd wanted to enter some of my Vor: Growlers in the competition announced here. It looks like Vor may be making a comeback!

2008 cumulative result: -161

Unpainted Mountain : ???
No idea - something in the region of 1500 28mm figures (but not growing this month)
